Pressing Instructions
Bad press = unhappy customer. These settings are dialed in for our transfers โ follow them and you'll get a soft, lasting print every time.
Recommended Press Settings
Always test on a scrap piece first. Heat press models vary.
Pre-press your garment
Press the blank garment for 3โ5 seconds before applying the transfer. This removes moisture and wrinkles โ moisture is the #1 reason transfers fail to stick.
Position your transfer
Place the transfer ink-side down on the garment. Make sure it's flat โ no bubbles, no folds. Use heat-resistant tape if needed to hold it in place.
Press it
Apply firm, even pressure for 10 seconds. Don't rock the platen โ press straight down and lift straight up.
Hot peel or cool peel
Peel the film immediately while it's still hot, unless on lower quality heat press, you can let it cool first for better results. Pull it back at a low angle โ don't yank up. If it's tearing or resisting, press 2โ3 more seconds and try again.
Second press (recommended)
Cover the print with parchment paper or teflon sheet and press again for 5โ10 seconds. This softens the finish and locks in wash durability โ it's the difference between a transfer that lasts 10 washes and one that lasts 50+.
Drop to 285โ300ยฐF for polyester or synthetic blends. Cotton temps will scorch the fabric and dull the color. When in doubt, go cooler and add a couple extra seconds.
Usually low pressure or a heat press with uneven heating. Crank the pressure up and make sure your platen is hitting the whole print evenly. Or try letting it cool for 30 seconds to a minute, If it's still giving you trouble, text or call us โ 316-461-0104.
